A refreshed version of Nissan’s subcompact Versa launched in late summer of 2020, offering lower, wider and longer exterior dimensions while retaining Versa’s roomy interior, and allowing up to 425 litres of trunk space. There are no changes for the 2022 model year.
The third-generation, front-wheel-drive sedan’s 1.6L four-cylinder puts out 122-hp and 114 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an enhanced Xtronic transmission or available five-speed manual (S trim only).
Inside, the Versa, Nissan’s lowest-priced product, includes a “gliding wing” instrument panel design and features a D-shaped steering wheel, seven-inch touchscreen audio display, remote keyless entry and standard push button start. Available amenities range from heated front seats to automatic climate control. Other comfort and convenience features include standard Bluetooth hands-free phone system, rear-view monitor, Siri Eyes Free; AM/FM audio system with four speakers and USB connection port for iPod and other compatible devices.
The 2022 Versa is offered in three models – S (5-speed manual or Xtronic transmissions), SV and the SR. Prices start at $16,798 for the S manual and top out at $21,298 for the SR Xtronic. The SR adds an extra touch of sportiness, including 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 205/50R17 all-season tires, LED headlights, remote engine start, black painted heated exterior mirrors, body-colour rear spoiler and more.
