2023 Kia Stinger

The 2023 Kia Stinger sport sedan is unchanged, except that Atomic Blue and Ascot Green exterior colours have been discontinued. For the 2022 model year, it received a new GT Elite trim which carries forward for 2023, along with a small increase of three horsepower to its engine, and some styling and feature upgrades. It continues to be offered in GT Limited, GT Elite, and GT Elite Suede Package trims. As with all Kia vehicles, it is covered by a 5-year/100,000-km comprehensive and powertrain warranty that covers almost everything on it.

Performance

All trims of the Stinger use a twin-turbo 3.3L V6 engine, making 368 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque, and mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It uses premium-grade fuel. All trims are all-wheel drive, with rear-wheel bias that contributes to this model’s excellent driving dynamics and fun performance. All trims have 19-inch alloy wheels with Brembo performance brakes. The U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awards the 2023 Kia Stinger its highest Top Safety Pick+ award, while the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash-tested the 2022 version and gave it the top five stars.

Practicality

The Stinger is a large car and provides ample space for those in the front seats, but rear-seat passengers will be more cramped, especially with the sloping roof. Cargo volume is 660 litres with the rear seats up, and they fold down for carrying longer items. This is a premium model in Kia’s lineup, and so all trims include such items as LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, sunroof, power-folding and auto-dimming mirrors, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, and 10.25-inch infotainment screen with built-in navigation. All trims also include emergency front braking, blind-spot collision avoidance, lane-keep assist, lane-follow assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and mandatory rearview camera.

Canadian pricing

The 2023 Kia Stinger starts at $51,955 for the GT Limited. The GT Elite is $54,495 and adds features such as adaptive headlights, Nappa leather seats, upgraded headliner, head-up display, 360-degree camera and blind-spot view monitor, which shows what’s alongside in the instrument cluster. The GT Elite with Suede Package is $54,795 and further adds leather seats with suede inserts, red seat stitching, red seatbelts, and suede dashboard trim.
