Entering its fourth year, the K5 continues as one of the most stylish entrants in the mid-size family sedan segment, and with its nicely appointed interior and generous standard kit, it’s a lot of value for the money. The K5 carries into 2023 with no changes.
The AWD LX, EX and GT-Line trims are powered by a turbo 1.6L four-cylinder producing 180 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The front-drive K5 GT stands out with a turbo 2.5L four-cylinder making 290 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque, paired with a new eight-speed “wet” dual-clutch transmission. It’s a quick sedan, but prone to wheelspin when loafer hits the floor.
Standard safety kit for the K5 includes blind spot and collision assist, front collision mitigation, lane keep assist, and lane follow assist. The K5 brags straight forward ergonomics, plenty of rear seat legroom and a generous trunk.
The K5 is offered in four trims, ranging from the $29,995 LX to the $40,995 GT.
