Touted by Hyundai as the world’s first vehicle offering three electrified powertrains, the Ioniq Hybrid compact sedan accompanies PHEV and electric models. There are no changes to 2022 models.

Performance

The Ioniq Hybrid features the Kappa 1.6L four-cylinder with gasoline direct injection combined with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion polymer battery.

Practical

Hyundai claims up to 1,125 kilometres on a single tank of gas, calling the Hybrid Canada’s most fuel-efficient car. The standard 8.0-inch touchscreen display offers an intuitive interface to access smartphone apps via standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The available 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation has the ability to be split between three different displays, so the nav map can be seen in one section while the other two sections can show information of choice.
