The 2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is the most fuel-efficient version of the Korean mid-sized sedan. It’s a clever combination of performance and efficiency and is only available as a fully-loaded Ultimate model. Like the rest of the Sonata lineup, the 2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid features no significant changes from the 2022 model, though it is slightly more expensive this time around.
The 2023 Hyundai Sonata is available in several trims and with a few different powertrains. If you’re after the most fuel-efficient model, then the Hybrid is the one to get. It uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine along with an electric powertrain to deliver a combined 192 hp and a maximum of 271 lb-ft of torque. Unlike other hybrids on the market, Hyundai pairs its hybrids with regular automatic transmissions, in this case, an eight-speed automatic.
While the power numbers seem a bit on the low side, the fuel efficiency of the Hybrid is excellent, with the sedan rated for 5.3 L/100 km in the city, 4.6 on the highway and 5.0 combined.

The Sonata Hybrid includes several driver assistance and safety features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assistance. The sedan also features a unique remote parking assistant that’s ideal if you have a crowded garage or need to get into a tight parking spot.
The 2023 Sonata Hybrid is $42,974 including delivery and destination fees. The Sonata Hybrid is only available in the fully loaded Ultimate trim, which is packed with luxury trimmings and fancy luxury upholstery. However, it is more than $10,000 more expensive than the base Sonata.
