The Civic Hatchback was all-new last year, combining Euro-inspired fastback styling and heightened driving dynamics with improved versatility and an available six-speed manual transmission. The Hatchback is the second in a series of 11th-generation Civic variants that also includes the high-performance Si and Civic Type R. There are no changes for 2023.
The Hatchback LX comes standard with a naturally aspirated, 158-hp 2.0L four-cylinder paired with a continuously variable transmission or an available six-speed manual. Sport and Sport Touring trims feature a 180-hp, 1.5L turbo four-cylinder and a CVT that’s been retuned for improved response. The Sport Touring can also be paired with a six-speed manual.
LX trim features a 7-inch colour touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, push-button start, partial digital instrumentation, LED headlights and a 60/40-split fold-down rear seat. Cargo space is 693 litres. The Sport trim comes with 18-inch wheels along with low-profile 235/40R18 tires, black exterior accents, and a dual chrome exhaust finisher. Sport’s interior upgrades include an 8-speaker audio system, Sport-specific seating surfaces, leather-wrapped shift knob and heated steering wheel, paddle shifters (CVT only) and sport pedals. The Sport Touring adds additional features such as front and rear parking sensors, low-speed braking control and rear cross-traffic alert, Bose premium audio system, with a 9-inch colour touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. An all-digital and customizable 10.2-inch instrument display is standard, along with 4-way power passenger seat and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel.
The 2023 Civic Hatchback starts at $30,100 for the LX with the 2.0L engine, moves up to the 1.5L turbo-equipped Sport ($33,630) and tops out at $37,130 for the Sport Touring. There is no difference in price between manual and continuously variable transmission models.
