2023 Honda Accord Hybrid

Last year, the Accord Hybrid mid-sized sedan benefitted a restyled front end as well as from updates to the Honda two-motor hybrid system for a more direct and immediate throttle response with a more natural acceleration feeling as engine revs climb. There are no changes for the 2022 model year.

Performance

With a total system output of 212 hp and peak torque of 232 lb-ft right off idle, Honda says the Accord Hybrid has the most power and torque in its class. Honda's two-motor hybrid system uses a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle gas engine as the propulsion motor, and a 181-hp generator/starter motor built with a patented Honda design made with magnets using no heavy rare-earth metals. The hybrid powertrain control system manages the power delivery between each component and switches between EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive for maximum efficiency with no input from the driver. Hybrid drivers can further maximize fuel efficiency or power by selecting between Sport, EV and Econ modes using the three buttons behind the push-button gear selector.

Practicality

Visually, Accord Hybrid adds its own unique exterior touches including a blue H-mark on the grille and Hybrid badges on the front fenders and trunk lid. Last year, the Touring trim upgraded to 19-inch wheels for a more upscale and sporty appearance.

The hybrid lineup consists of two trims, Hybrid ($37,170) and Touring ($43,870).
