2023 Ford Transit Connect Van

For 2023, the Ford Transit full-size van is available with a new 9,900-GVWR rating, which comes in a 148-inch-wide body with low, medium or high roof; in extended-length body with high roof; and in 156-inch and 178-inch cutaway and chassis cab. Other available new features include fleet fuel economy and safety packages. There are new wheel designs and exterior colours, and the electric E-Transit can now be ordered with back-up alarm, passenger seat and right-hand door delete, or as a school bus prep.

Performance

The Transit is available as a cargo van, crew van or passenger van. Engine choices are a naturally-aspirated 3.5L V6 making 275 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque; or a twin-turbocharged “EcoBoost” 3.5L V6 with 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Also available is the all-electric E-Transit, in cargo van, cutaway or chassis cab. Its rear-mounted motor makes 266 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, and has an estimated range of 203 km on a charge.

Practicality

The Transit comes in three roof heights, three lengths, and with single or dual rear wheels, with availability of each depending on the configuration. The cargo van has an available power-sliding door, while the crew van has two rows of seats. A number of driver-assist technologies can also be added, including adaptive cruise control, front and rear emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring, along with fleet telematics that can show dispatchers where the vehicle is and monitor its odometer reading, maintenance requirements and any diagnostic codes.

Canadian Pricing

The 2023 Ford Transit starts at $49,930 as a cargo van, while the crew van begins at $53,250 and the passenger van at $59,150. All prices are for the naturally-aspirated V6 engine, and on all models it’s an extra $2,000 to move up to the turbocharged V6.
