Ford plans to discontinue the midsize, Canadian-built Edge at the end of the 2023 model year. It therefore receives no significant changes, other than a new Interior Appearance Package for the ST trim, which adds leather and faux-suede seat upholstery, perforated-leather steering wheel, and red and blue accent stitching.
The Edge comes in five trim levels, with the SE, SEL, ST-Line and Titanium powered by a turbocharged 2.0L “EcoBoost” four-cylinder engine, making 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque, and mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The ST exclusively uses a turbocharged 2.7L EcoBoost V6 that makes 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, with a seven-speed automatic transmission. All trims come standard with all-wheel drive. The ST adds a performance-tuned suspension.
The five-passenger Edge features a roomy cabin and a generous 1,110 litres of cargo space when the second row is up, increasing to a maximum of 2,078 litres when the back chairs are folded down. All trims include such features as dual-zone automatic climate control, blind-spot monitoring, emergency front braking, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Upper trims add such items as a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, premium sound system, wireless charger, and power liftgate.
The Edge starts in SE trim at $39,897. It moves through the SEL at $43,699; the ST-Line at $46,589; and the Titanium at $47,319. The ST starts at $53,669, and its new-for-2023 Interior Appearance Package is priced at $1,000.
