2022 Audi TT RS

Audi’s stylish 2+2 sportscar get muscled-up in RS guise with a powerful and characterful 2.5L turbocharged five-cylinder engine. The Audi TT RS looks the part, sounds the part, and is certainly quick, but lacks the dynamic fluidity of rival Porsche Cayman.

Performance

With 394 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque on tap from 1,700 rpm, the quattro all-wheel-drive TT RS delivers impressive midrange turbo punch. It will scoot to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds while kicking out a uniquely boisterous soundtrack. The TT RS rides on 20-inch wheels wearing summer performance rubber, and transmission duties are handled by a quick-shifting 7-speed dual-clutch auto. This special Audi is a fast, point and shoot weapon.

Practicality

Unlike the Porsche Cayman or Toyota Supra, the Audi TT does have a back seat, although pretty much in name only as it is more suitable for parcels than humans. Nonetheless, the TT’s hatchback configuration offers up 340L of cargo space.

Value

Only available in coupe form, the 2022 Audi TT RS bows at $78,900 and comes fully equipped. The only options are paint colours, wheel design, and the $1,700 Audi Sport Package (RS fixed suspension, carbon fibre engine cover, 280 km/h speed limiter). Compared to a similarly equipped Porsche Cayman GTS 4.0, the TT RS is an absolute bargain.
