2023 Audi SQ8

The two-row Audi SQ8 crossover with its sloping coupe-like roofline sits between the base Q8 and the over-achieving RS Q8. Standard V8 power gives it pace to match its style. For 2023, the SQ8 gets some interior trim upgrades, remote parking system and a new 22-inch wheel design.

Performance

The SQ8 crossover uses a Porsche-developed 4.0L bi-turbo V8 producing 500 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. With an eight-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive, the SQ8 reaches 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. It’s a surprisingly agile handler, although you’ll need the $7,500 Dynamic Package Plus (active roll stabilization and sport differential) to get the most out of this package. Comfort mode delivers the expected luxury ride.

Practicality

As with all SUVs sporting sloping “coupe” rooflines, utility get compromised, although the Audi’s back-end rake is not as radical as others in this camp. There’s a generous 863L of cargo space behind the 40/20/40 split second row, and with the $650 towing package, the SQ8 will pull 7,700 lbs. Standard four-wheel steering shrinks the SQ8’s turning circle.

Canadian Pricing

At $115,900, the 2023 Audi SQ8 costs $7,700 more than the three-row SQ7. This nets 21-inch wheels, quilted leather, ventilated front seats, power door closers, Virtual Cockpit, head-up display and the full complement of safety systems and driver aids. Want more?
