2023 Audi S6

The Audi S6 sedan takes the demure A6 on which it is based to a more exciting place. Looks, power, handling and desirability take a leap forward, as does its price. This stealthy sedan gets a new-for-2023 park assist system with remote functionality.

Performance

In S6 trim, Audi’s 2.9L turbocharged V6 with its 48-volt mild hybrid system gets boosted from 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque to a more robust 444 horses and 443 lb-ft at a low 1900 rpm. Transmission duties are handled by the excellent 8-speed ZF unit. With its S tuned adaptive air suspension suspension and standard 21-inch summer performance rubber, the S6 is a formidable handler, if not as engaging as some rivals.

Practicality

Rear passenger room is good for this class of vehicle, and the seats are well contoured. The S6 brags a large 530L trunk, and with the easy-fold 40/20/40 second seat flipped down, it offers more cargo space than the Mercedes E Class and BMW 5 Series. We would wish for more useful cubby space in the front cabin.

The 2023 Audi S6 comes in one trim that starts at $95,700. As such, it gets a laundry list of safety and driver aids, leather, head-up display, numerous luxury and tech items including Bang and Olufsen 3D sound. For the full S experience, buyers must spec the $4000 Sport Package (sport differential, red brake calipers, all-wheel steering, dynamic steering).
