2023 Audi A6

The mid-size Audi A6 might wear some understated clothes, but beneath its demure exterior lies a luxurious and techy all-wheel-drive sedan with a wide bandwidth of talents. The interior with its 10.1-inch touchscreen and available 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit gets dressed in high quality leather, fine wood accents and metal detailing. New standard equipment for 2023 includes S-line styling, power trunk, illuminated door sills, fear side airbags and black cloth headliner. Top trim Technik gets new park assist with remote function.

Performance

Audi A6 buyers get a choice of two engines. The “45” designated model run with a 2.0L turbocharged four that generates 261 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque with help from a 12-volt mild hybrid system. The “55” variants use a 2.9L turbocharged V6 with 48-volt hybrid system, good for 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both are hooked to a 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission. The four-cylinder provides sufficient thrust, while the V6 makes the A6 a genuinely fast sedan.

Practicality

The A6 brags a large 530L trunk, and with the easy-fold second seat flipped down, it offers more cargo space than the Mercedes E Class and BMW 5 Series. On the downside, front cabin storage is a bit stingy.

Canadian Pricing

The 2023 Audi A6 sedan is available in three trims – the well-equipped four-cylinder 45 Progressiv starting at $67,400, the V6 55 Progessiv ($73,700) and the 55 Technik ($81,300). New for 2023 is the $3700 Vorsprung Edition package that adds 20-inch wheels, lowered sport suspension, topview camera, black trim and interior upgrades.
