I’ve abandoned a few things in my life: the dream of becoming a world-famous guitarist; trying to “conquer” the buffet at the Mandarin; and the quest to find my first car, a 1987 Volvo 240 DL wagon. But to my credit, I’ve never abandoned an entire car or three.

A Tesla enthusiast in China apparently can’t sat the same. Three new, never-driven 2010 Tesla Roadsters were recently found in a shipping container there, as if they were forgotten about, says a Road & Track article. The trio of U.S.-spec cars were ordered by a Chinese buyer in 2010, but never delivered. Since then, they’ve been sitting entombed in shipping containers at a Chinese port, untouched and accruing storage charges.

Now, Gruber Motor Company, a Tesla service center in Arizona, is managing the shipping of the cars back to America, and their subsequent sale.

The trio consists of a Radiant Red Sport Roadster; a Very Orange Sport Roadster; and a Very Orange Base Model Roadster, and come with unopened boxes in the trunks. There are also bigger boxes, externally, accompanying each car, which, together with the trunked ones, likely contain brand-new charging cables and hard tops with carrying cases.

The Teslas are still in China for the moment, and the seller would like to sell them as a set, but if you make a strong enough case, they could be sold separately. However, if no buyers are found there, they’ll be shipped to Gruber Motor Company in mid-May, thoroughly inspected, and listed for sale here instead.

No word on the odometer count, or on whether the battery packs will still take a charge after 13 long and lonely years, or what other surprises are in store. Maybe ol’ Elon will dig into his couch for some change and buy them himself!
